Revelation 7:14
“I told him, “My lord, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood.”
What does Revelation 7:14 mean?
John is shown a massive crowd in heaven wearing white robes, and when he asks who they are, an elder explains they're people who endured severe suffering and persecution, then found cleansing and renewal through Christ. The image of washing robes in blood sounds strange to us, but it's John's poetic way of saying that their faith in Jesus, even through terrible hardship, transformed and restored them. This passage offers deep comfort to anyone suffering for their faith or struggling through dark circumstances: your pain isn't meaningless, and the One who gave everything for you sees you and knows what you've gone through.
