What does Revelation 3:6 mean?

This repeated refrain appears at the end of each of Jesus's messages to the seven churches, and it's an invitation to really *listen* rather than just passively receive words. When Jesus says "he who has an ear," he's not talking about physical hearing, but about the willingness and capacity to understand what matters spiritually. He's essentially saying: if you're genuinely open to what God wants to tell you, then pay attention to this message, because it applies to your life right now. The phrase reminds us that receiving God's word is a choice, one that requires us to quiet our own noise and turn our hearts toward what the Spirit is actually saying to us where we are.
