Revelation 3:19
βAs many as I love, I reprove and chasten. Be zealous therefore, and repent.β
What does Revelation 3:19 mean?
Jesus speaks here as a loving father who corrects his children, not out of anger, but because he cares about who they're becoming. When someone we love calls out our mistakes or lets us face real consequences for our choices, it can sting, but it's actually evidence of their investment in us. He's inviting the church at Laodicea (and us) to wake up, take seriously the areas where they've drifted, and turn back toward what matters. The call to "be zealous" isn't about frantic activity, but about recovering genuine passion and commitment, which begins with honest repentance.
