Revelation 22:7
““Behold, I come quickly. Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.””
What does Revelation 22:7 mean?
Jesus speaks these words near the end of Revelation to assure his followers that his return is certain and will happen sooner than we might expect. The blessing promised here isn't about being perfect or understanding every detail of prophecy, but rather about holding onto the values and promises revealed throughout this book, even when circumstances feel hopeless or confusing. When Jesus says "blessed is he who keeps the words," he means those who take seriously what they've learned about God's faithfulness, justice, and ultimate victory. For people walking through difficult seasons, this is a reminder that trusting in God's promises and living by them now isn't wasted effort, even when we can't see how things will resolve. The blessing comes from alignment with what God has revealed, not from having perfect knowledge of the future.
