Revelation 2:21
βI gave her time to repent, but she refuses to repent of her sexual immorality.β
What does Revelation 2:21 mean?
Jesus is speaking here about Jezebel, a false prophet in the church at Thyatira who was leading people into sexual sin and idolatry. Rather than immediately punishing her, He had already extended patience and opportunity for her to turn away from this destructive path. But she hardened her heart and rejected His mercy. This reveals something important about how God works: He doesn't rush into judgment without first giving people genuine chances to change course. At the same time, persistent refusal to repent has real consequences. The message offers comfort to those struggling with sin (there's always time to turn around) while also taking seriously our freedom to reject God's call and the weight of doing so.
