Revelation 2:11
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies. He who overcomes won’t be harmed by the second death.”
What does Revelation 2:11 mean?
This is Jesus speaking directly to the church in Smyrna, a community facing real persecution. The "second death" refers to final separation from God, the ultimate consequence that comes after physical death for those who reject him. The promise here is radical comfort: if you remain faithful through suffering, that final death has no power over you.
