Psalms 96:8
“Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come into his courts.”
What does Psalms 96:8 mean?
When we give God the honor that belongs to him, we're not doing him a favor—we're acknowledging what's already true. The psalmist invites us to approach God not with empty hands but with offerings, whether that's our gratitude, our time, our resources, or simply our honest presence. Coming into God's courts means we're welcome to draw near, to be in his presence, not because we've earned it but because he's invited us. This is a picture of worship as both reverence and relationship: we honor who God is, and we show up to be with him.
