Psalms 95:11
“Therefore I swore in my wrath, “They won’t enter into my rest.””
What does Psalms 95:11 mean?
God is expressing deep disappointment with people who have repeatedly turned away from him despite seeing his faithfulness firsthand. The "rest" he mentions isn't just physical comfort, but the peace and wholeness that comes from trusting him and living in relationship with him. When we stubbornly refuse to believe or follow, we actually lock ourselves out of that peace, not because God arbitrarily withholds it, but because we've rejected the very thing that would give us rest. This is a serious reminder that our choices matter, and that turning away from God has real consequences, even when he's shown us over and again that he's trustworthy.
