Psalms 94:11
βYahweh knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.β
What does Psalms 94:11 mean?
God sees right into the human heart and understands that our plans and worries often lead nowhere. We spend so much mental energy on things we can't control, schemes that fall apart, or anxieties that never come to pass. The psalmist isn't saying that thinking itself is worthless, but rather that we tend to lean on our own understanding and worry about outcomes we can't secure, when God alone has true perspective and power. There's comfort in this, actually: since God knows our thoughts already, we don't have to pretend with him or figure everything out on our own.
