Psalms 94:10
“He who disciplines the nations, won’t he punish? He who teaches man knows.”
What does Psalms 94:10 mean?
The psalmist is making a logical argument about God's nature: if God is wise enough to govern entire nations and instruct humanity in what's right, then surely he understands wrongdoing and will hold people accountable for it. It's a way of saying that God's wisdom and justice aren't separate things, but flow from the same character. When you're struggling with why injustice seems to go unpunished in the world, this verse reminds us that the God who sees and knows everything isn't indifferent to what happens on earth, even when we can't see the consequences ourselves.
