Psalms 90:8
“You have set our iniquities before you, our secret sins in the light of your presence.”
What does Psalms 90:8 mean?
God sees everything we do and everything we hide, even the things we've never told another soul. There's something both humbling and strangely freeing about this image: we can't pretend with God or keep score of our own failings in the dark. The psalmist isn't trying to shame us here but to remind us that since God already knows our whole story—every mistake, every compromise, every unkind thought—we might as well stop exhausting ourselves trying to hide. That openness before God is actually where honest healing and forgiveness begin.
