What does Psalms 89:11 mean?

Everything that exists, from the vast sky above to the ground beneath our feet and all the creatures and resources within it, belongs to God. The psalmist is reminding us that God didn't just create these things as a distant act and then step away, but actively established them and maintains them. This is comfort when we feel small or overwhelmed by life, because it means we're never outside the care of someone who holds everything in his hands, and it's an invitation to trust rather than grasp anxiously at control.
