What does Psalms 77:8 mean?

These questions come from someone in deep pain, wrestling with whether God has truly abandoned them. The psalmist isn't making statements of fact here, but crying out the fears that surface when suffering stretches on and on. There's a raw honesty in asking these hard questions in prayer, almost as if saying them aloud might force God to respond. What makes this powerful is that the person asking has nowhere else to turn, so they're bringing their doubts directly to the One they're doubting. Later in this same psalm, the writer moves from these anguished questions toward remembrance of God's past faithfulness. Sometimes faith isn't about having perfect confidence, but about staying in conversation with God even when hope feels paper-thin.
