What does Psalms 77:6 mean?

When we're awake at 3 a.m. wrestling with worry or grief, the psalmist knows exactly where we are. He's describing those restless nights when our minds won't quiet down, when we find ourselves turning things over and over in our hearts, searching for answers or comfort or just some way to make sense of what hurts. The "song in the night" suggests he's remembering not just idle thoughts but moments of hope, faith, or connection with God from better times. What makes this verse tender is that he's not pretending the hard feelings away; he's honestly sitting with them while also reaching back toward what he once knew to be true. It's the picture of someone faithfully wrestling through the darkness rather than running from it.
