Psalms 7:8
βYahweh administers judgment to the peoples. Judge me, Yahweh, according to my righteousness, and to my integrity that is in me.β
What does Psalms 7:8 mean?
The psalmist here is calling on God to examine his life thoroughly and judge whether he's been living with integrity. He's asking God to look at the actual record of his choices and character, confident that what God will find is honest dealing and genuine effort to do what's right. It's a prayer that makes sense when you've tried to walk faithfully and feel misunderstood or accused by others around you. Rather than defending himself endlessly to people, the psalmist is essentially saying, "I'm placing this before God, who sees everything I actually am, not just what critics think of me."
