What does Psalms 43:3 mean?

When you're lost or overwhelmed, the psalmist invites you to ask God for guidance in the most fundamental way: through light and truth. Light here means clarity and direction, while truth means God's reliable character and what actually matters. Instead of groping around in darkness trying to figure things out alone, the prayer is simply asking God to illuminate the way forward. The destination mentioned is God's holy hill and tent, which refers to the temple where God's presence was experienced. For us today, that's a picture of drawing closer to God, finding your way back to trust and safety when everything feels confused. The beauty is that you're not asked to figure out the route yourself, just to let the light and truth lead you there, step by step.
