Psalms 37:25
“I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread.”
What does Psalms 37:25 mean?
The psalmist is sharing something he's observed across a long lifetime: when people commit themselves to doing what's right, God provides for them and their families. He's not claiming life is always easy or that faithful people never face struggles, but rather that he's never witnessed someone genuinely devoted to God left completely abandoned or destitute. This offer of reassurance meant something powerful to people in ancient times who lived much closer to the edge of poverty than many of us do today.
