What does Psalms 37:24 mean?

When you're going through a difficult time, it's easy to feel like one more problem will completely knock you down. This psalm offers a different picture: the person who trusts God may stumble, may struggle, may have moments of weakness or failure, but won't be destroyed by them. The image is of someone whose hand is being held, kept steady even when their footing isn't sure. The promise isn't that faithful people avoid all trouble or never make mistakes. It's that in the midst of real struggles, there's an underlying support that prevents total collapse. That steadying presence means a stumble can become a place where you learn, adjust, or cry out for help, rather than a point of no return.
