What does Psalms 30:5 mean?
When the psalmist says God's anger lasts only a moment while his favor stretches across a lifetime, he's pointing to a fundamental truth about God's character: his default toward us is goodness, not punishment. Even when we face his correction, it's temporary and purposeful, never his final word about us. The image of weeping through the night that gives way to morning joy speaks to something we all recognize in our own lives.
