“Hurry to answer me, Yahweh. My spirit fails. Don’t hide your face from me, so that I don’t become like those who go down into the pit.”
What does Psalms 143:7 mean?
The psalmist is desperate and running out of emotional and spiritual strength, so they're calling out for God to respond quickly and not to withdraw. When they ask God not to "hide his face," they mean don't turn away or become distant, because that absence would feel like spiritual death itself.
