What does Psalms 124:6 mean?

When enemies surround us, it's easy to feel like we're trapped and helpless, like we've already been devoured. The psalmist is expressing profound relief that God hasn't allowed their enemies to completely destroy them, even when danger felt very real and very close. This isn't about being untouched by hardship, but about surviving situations that could have ended far worse. The "teeth" imagery captures how threatening and predatory the danger felt, which makes the gratitude for deliverance even more pointed and real.
