What does Psalms 119:29 mean?

The psalmist is asking God for two connected gifts: protection from living dishonestly and the strength to follow God's teaching instead. There's a real acknowledgment here that deceit is a *way*, a whole direction we can drift into, so the prayer isn't just "don't let me tell one lie" but "keep me from that entire path." Then comes the beautiful second part, where the psalmist asks God to give his law not as a burden but graciously, as a gift freely given. It's the picture of someone who wants integrity but knows they need God's help and generosity to get there, not their own willpower alone.
