What does Psalms 107:3 mean?

This verse celebrates God's faithful gathering of scattered people back to their homeland after exile. The four directions (east, west, north, south) paint a picture of people dispersed far and wide, yet somehow all finding their way home—a powerful image of restoration and belonging that would have deeply resonated with those who'd experienced displacement. The psalmist is reminding us that no matter how lost or far away we feel, God hasn't forgotten us, and there's a way back to wholeness.
