“Our fathers didn’t understand your wonders in Egypt. They didn’t remember the multitude of your loving kindnesses, but were rebellious at the sea, even at the Red Sea.”
What does Psalms 106:7 mean?
The psalmist is reflecting on Israel's history and naming a painful pattern: even after witnessing God's extraordinary acts of rescue and provision in Egypt, the people quickly forgot and complained. Within days of crossing the Red Sea on dry ground, they were grumbling about food and water instead of trusting the God who had just saved them from slavery.
