What does Psalms 106:15 mean?
When the Israelites demanded meat instead of trusting God's provision of manna in the wilderness, God actually gave them what they asked for. Quail came in abundance, and they got their fill. But the psalm notes something sobering: while their stomachs were satisfied, their souls grew thin and weak, starved of the deeper nourishment that comes from faith and obedience. This speaks to a hard truth many of us learn the difficult way: getting what we want isn't always the same as getting what we need. Sometimes when we're consumed by a craving or demand our own way, God may let us have it, but without the spiritual vitality and peace that come from trusting him. The emptiness that follows—the "leanness"—isn't punishment so much as the natural result of feeding the wrong hunger.
