What does Proverbs 6:15 mean?

This verse warns that someone who ignores repeated correction and persists in destructive behavior will eventually face sudden, irreversible consequences. The passage is describing a pattern: a person refuses to listen to wisdom, keeps choosing harm, and then one day the weight of those choices crashes down all at once, with no way to fix it. It's less about God punishing and more about how real choices have real outcomes. When we consistently ignore warning signs and the counsel of people who care about us, we're heading toward a cliff we may not see until it's too late. The suddenness doesn't mean the danger came from nowhere, but rather that the breaking point arrives when we least expect it, often when we've stopped paying attention.
