What does Proverbs 3:12 mean?
God's correction in our lives is actually a sign of love, not rejection. A parent who cares deeply about their child's growth will gently guide them away from harmful choices, and God operates from that same heart of genuine affection toward us. When life brings difficult lessons or when our conscience convicts us, it's not punishment from an angry distant judge, but the loving attention of someone who believes in who we're becoming. This doesn't make correction feel easy in the moment, but it offers comfort in knowing that challenges and correction are woven into the same fabric as God's devotion to us.
