What does Proverbs 3:11 mean?
When life brings hard correction, our first instinct is often to pull away or resent it. This verse invites us to see discipline differently, not as punishment meant to harm us, but as a sign that someone who loves us cares enough to redirect us toward better living. The language of a parent speaking to a child captures how God's correction works: it comes from care, even when it's uncomfortable. Being "weary" of reproof means growing tired of hearing what we need to hear, dismissing the message because we're frustrated or ashamed. But wisdom teaches us that these difficult moments, when we're confronted with our mistakes or shortcomings, are actually gifts.
