What does Proverbs 29:25 mean?

When we're anxious about what others think, we often make choices that go against our own values or what we know is right, which traps us in a cycle of people-pleasing and self-doubt. The opposite approach, trusting God rather than fearing human judgment, gives us the freedom and strength to live with integrity. This doesn't mean we should be reckless or unkind, but rather that we can find security in something deeper than approval from those around us. When our primary concern is God's perspective instead of managing everyone else's opinions, we discover a kind of protection and peace that doesn't depend on how we're perceived.
