“Whoever tends the fig tree shall eat its fruit. He who looks after his master shall be honored.”
What does Proverbs 27:18 mean?
When you invest genuine care in something—whether it's work, a relationship, or a responsibility—you naturally benefit from what grows out of that effort. The fig tree here represents any work or duty you tend faithfully; the fruit is both the literal reward and the dignity that comes from doing something well.
