Proverbs 25:3
βAs the heavens for height, and the earth for depth, so the hearts of kings are unsearchable.β
What does Proverbs 25:3 mean?
The human heart, especially that of a powerful ruler, holds mysteries we simply cannot fathom. Just as we can measure how high the sky reaches or how deep the earth goes, yet those measurements never fully capture their vastness, we cannot truly know what moves a king's (or anyone's) inner world. This verse speaks to the humbling reality that other people's motivations, desires, and decision-making processes remain partly hidden from us, no matter how close we think we are to them. It's a reminder to approach others with gentleness and humility, recognizing that we see only the surface of what's really happening in someone's heart.
