Proverbs 15:12
“A scoffer doesn’t love to be reproved; he will not go to the wise.”
What does Proverbs 15:12 mean?
When someone is determined to mock and dismiss correction, they naturally avoid the very people who might actually help them grow. A person with this attitude sees wisdom-givers and honest feedback as threats rather than gifts, so they stay away from them. This creates a lonely cycle: the person who needs wisdom most is the one least willing to seek it out. The verse isn't condemning anyone beyond hope, but rather describing how hardened attitudes lock us into patterns where we can't learn or change, even when we desperately need to.
