What does Proverbs 13:19 mean?
When we work toward something meaningful and finally see it come about, that satisfaction runs deep. There's a sweetness to fulfilled hope that touches something essential in us. But the verse points to something harder: the person who won't let go of destructive habits, even when shown a better way, misses out on that joy entirely. They'd rather hold onto what's familiar and harmful than experience the freedom and peace that come from change.
