Philippians 3:15
“Let us therefore, as many as are perfect, think this way. If in anything you think otherwise, God will also reveal that to you.”
What does Philippians 3:15 mean?
Paul is inviting mature believers to adopt a certain perspective, and he's being remarkably gentle about disagreement. When he says "perfect" here, he means spiritually mature or complete in Christ, not flawless. The real encouragement comes in the second part: if you honestly see things differently than what Paul is teaching, God himself will guide you toward truth. There's no shame, no punishment, just trust that the Holy Spirit works in each person's life. This is surprisingly humble advice from an apostle. Paul isn't demanding blind agreement or threatening those who question. Instead, he's saying that genuine spiritual growth means being open to God's ongoing work in you, whether that means following his teaching now or being corrected later by God's own hand. It's an invitation to both conviction and grace.
