Philippians 1:6
“being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
What does Philippians 1:6 mean?
Paul is reassuring the Philippians (and us) that God doesn't start something in our lives and then abandon it halfway. When God begins transforming us, shaping our character, or working out his purposes in us, he sees it through to completion. That completion won't be finished in this lifetime, but it will be fully accomplished when Jesus returns. This is meant to be deeply comforting when you're in the middle of a long struggle with a habit, a relationship, your faith, or anything else where you can't yet see the finish line. You're not left to figure it out alone or get stuck partway through. God's commitment to the good work he's started in you is as certain as Christ's return itself.
