What does Numbers 8:19 mean?
God designated the Levites as a special gift to Aaron's priestly family, set apart to handle the sacred work of worship and sacrifice on behalf of all Israel. Their role was to stand between the people and God's holy presence, performing rituals of atonement that protected the community from God's judgment.
