Numbers 32:31
“The children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, “As Yahweh has said to your servants, so will we do.”
What does Numbers 32:31 mean?
These tribes are making a simple but profound commitment: they're agreeing to obey what God has instructed them to do, even though it means taking on extra responsibility. Moses had just challenged them to fight alongside the other tribes to claim the Promised Land, and they're responding by submitting to that call without argument or hesitation. There's something quietly powerful here about acceptance. Rather than negotiating or backing away, they're saying yes to the harder path because they recognize God's instruction carries weight. It's the kind of response that builds trust between leaders and communities, and between ourselves and God, when we're willing to do what's asked of us even when it costs us something.
