What does Numbers 16:24 mean?

Moses is commanding the Israelite community to physically distance themselves from three leaders who have just rebelled against God's authority. Korah, Dathan, and Abiram had challenged Moses and Aaron's leadership, claiming the whole community was equally holy and didn't need hierarchical authority. This command to separate is about protection: God is about to judge the rebels, and anyone standing near them risks being caught in that judgment. The verse shows a practical, urgent principle that sometimes we need to create distance from those actively moving away from truth or from God, not out of hatred but out of wisdom and self-preservation.
