Numbers 11:24
“Moses went out, and told the people Yahweh’s words; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent.”
What does Numbers 11:24 mean?
Moses recognized that leadership was too heavy a burden for one person alone, so he brought together seventy elders to share the responsibility of guiding Israel. By positioning them around the Tent of Meeting (God's dwelling place), he was essentially saying that this work would be done in God's presence and under God's direction, not through human strength alone. This moment reflects a profound truth: the people God calls to serve rarely succeed by carrying the load by themselves. When we're overwhelmed by what we're trying to do, it often means we need to invite others in, not push harder alone.
