What does Nehemiah 4:6 mean?
When Nehemiah's community faced opposition and threats while rebuilding Jerusalem's broken walls, what kept them going wasn't perfect circumstances or the absence of danger, but simply their determination to do the work. The wall rose to halfway completion because the people genuinely wanted to rebuild it, not because external conditions suddenly became easier. This reminds us that our willingness and commitment often matter more than waiting for ideal circumstances to align. Sometimes progress itself—seeing the wall grow, feeling the momentum—is what sustains us through difficulty.
