What does Nehemiah 4:5 mean?
Nehemiah and his team were rebuilding Jerusalem's wall while facing mocking opposition from neighboring peoples. In this moment, Nehemiah asks God not to overlook or forgive the enemies who were taunting and discouraging the workers. He's asking God to remember and hold accountable those who were standing in the way of something God had called him to do. This is an honest prayer that comes from real pain and frustration. Nehemiah isn't being petty, he's asking God to notice injustice and not let wrongdoing slide.
