Nehemiah 2:9

What does Nehemiah 2:9 mean?
Nehemiah wasn't traveling alone on his important mission to rebuild Jerusalem's walls. The Persian king didn't just write letters on his behalf, but actually sent military escort and cavalry to ensure his safe passage through potentially hostile territory. This shows how seriously the king took Nehemiah's request, and it also meant that regional governors would take Nehemiah seriously too. When you're trying to accomplish something significant, sometimes having visible support and authority behind you makes all the difference, and that's exactly what Nehemiah had as he began this risky work.
