Nehemiah 13:7

and I came to Jerusalem, and understood the evil that Eliashib had done for Tobiah, in preparing him a room in the courts of God’s house.

What does Nehemiah 13:7 mean?

When Nehemiah returned to Jerusalem after a time away, he discovered that Eliashib, the high priest, had let someone named Tobiah move into a storage room inside the temple itself. Tobiah was an outsider and opponent of Jerusalem's rebuilding efforts, so this was a serious breach of the temple's sacred purpose. What made this worse was that Eliashib had given up a room meant for storing offerings and supplies for God's worship. Nehemiah was grieved not just by the disrespect to God's house, but by how quickly corruption had crept in through someone in a position of trust.
