Micah 3:9
“Please listen to this, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice, and pervert all equity.”
What does Micah 3:9 mean?
Micah was speaking directly to the leaders of his time, calling them out for something far too common: using their power to twist justice instead of uphold it. When he says they "abhor justice," he's describing people who claim to care about fairness while actually working against it through corrupt decisions and self-serving laws. The prophet isn't being subtle because the problem wasn't subtle, and sometimes people need to hear plainly that their actions have consequences. What makes this verse sting a little is how it applies across time.
