Micah 1:9
“For her wounds are incurable; for it has come even to Judah. It reaches to the gate of my people, even to Jerusalem.”
What does Micah 1:9 mean?
The prophet Micah is describing devastation spreading like a sickness that can't be healed, moving from the northern kingdom of Israel into Judah and all the way to Jerusalem itself. He's painting a picture of judgment advancing relentlessly toward the capital, where God's temple stood and where the king ruled. The "wounds" he mentions aren't just physical destruction from invading armies, but deep spiritual harm from the people's unfaithfulness. What makes this especially serious is that even Jerusalem, the heart of God's people and their greatest stronghold, isn't exempt from these consequences. Micah is calling his listeners to wake up and see that no amount of walls or status will protect them if they've turned away from God.
