What does Matthew 8:19 mean?
A religious scholar approaches Jesus with what sounds like total commitment, promising to go anywhere with him. Jesus doesn't reject the offer outright, but his response (in the following verse) gently challenges whether this man understands what following actually costs, pointing out that even animals have places to rest while the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.
