““The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.”
What does Matthew 6:22 mean?
Jesus uses the image of a lamp to show how what we focus on shapes our entire inner life. When your eye is healthy and clear, it lets light flood through your whole body, just as a good lamp brightens a room. He's saying that what we choose to look at, dwell on, and pay attention to deeply affects our spiritual and emotional wellbeing. If we keep our attention fixed on what is good, true, and beautiful, that orientation ripples through everything we think and do.
