““His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things, I will set you over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’”
What does Matthew 25:21 mean?
These words come at the end of Jesus' parable about servants who are trusted with their master's resources while he's away. The servant who receives this praise hasn't necessarily done anything spectacular or made dramatic gains, but he's been faithful and careful with what he was given. What makes this so moving is that the reward isn't just more responsibility or a higher status, though those come too.
