Matthew 24:36
βBut no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only.β
What does Matthew 24:36 mean?
Jesus is talking about when he'll return to earth, and he's being very direct: nobody has figured it out, and nobody will. Not the angels in heaven, not the smartest theologians, not social media prophets claiming they've cracked the code, not anyone. Only God the Father knows. This matters because throughout history, people have tried to predict the end times based on signs, numbers, or world events, often with great confidence and sometimes causing real harm. Jesus is essentially saying, "Stop. That's not your job to know." What we're meant to do instead is live faithfully and stay spiritually ready, not obsess over a timeline that's beyond our reach. If you're someone who's felt anxious about the future or pressured by others' certainty about what's coming, this verse offers real peace: you're not supposed to have that answer.
