Matthew 24:12
βBecause iniquity will be multiplied, the love of many will grow cold.β
What does Matthew 24:12 mean?
Jesus is describing what happens to people's hearts when wrongdoing spreads through society. When sin and corruption become normalized around us, it's easy to become hardened, cynical, or just exhausted, and that emotional and spiritual fatigue cools the warmth we once felt toward others. He's not saying this *has* to happen to us, but rather naming a real danger: that witnessing so much brokenness can make us withdraw our compassion and generosity if we're not careful. The warning invites us to notice when we're drifting toward coldness and to actively tend to love, even (or especially) when the world around us feels increasingly dark.
